The policy Research and Evaluation Division (PRED)/ Planning Office (PO) held the 2nd TVET Statistics Quiz (TSQ) last October 7, 2011. The conduct of the TSQ is one of TESDA’s contribution to the annual celebration of the National Statistics Month (NSM). TSQ is part of our efforts to develop our TESDA staff in the area of statistics and its importance in TESDA function as the manager of TVET sector. The 2nd TSQ was participated in by the following:

QSO won 2nd Runner-up place and awarded cash of P2, 000.00 while Region IV-A bagged the 1st Runner-up place and cash prize of P3, 000.00. The CAO team was declared as champion in the contest receiving a cash prize of P5, 000.00. All participants were issued Certificate of Participation and the non-winner teams received P1, 000.00 each.
The champion team represented TESDA in the 9th Labor Statistics Quiz (LSQ) held on October 19, 2011. The LSQ is spearheaded by the Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics, Department of Labor and Employment (BLES, DOLE). The team bagged the 1stRunner-up place with a cash prize of P12, 000.00. They competed with the other 21 teams from the different organic offices, bureaus and attached agencies of DOLE. Mr. Leonardo S. Durante, Jr., Sr. TESDA Specialist, Planning Office was the coach for the TESDA Team who was a former member of the two TESDA champion teams. To date, TESDA has a record of being champion thrice and 1st runner-up thrice.
The TSQ shall be institutionalized and all TESDA regional offices are enjoined to participate in the future conduct of the TSQ.
