Cagayan de Oro City – Good News! The nationwide contest dubbed as “Tatak TESDA Video Making Contest” of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority has been extended until March 31, 2014.

 

The contest was launched challenging the technical vocational education and training (tech-voc) graduates and schools offering tech-voc programs to create a video of their success story that will encourage other people to get into this career path.

 

The grand winners for the graduate and institution categories will be selected based on a list of criteria and the number of likes in the social networking site Facebook.

 

The contest has two categories: tech-voc graduate and institution.
The graduate should be a holder of a National Certificate (NC) or Certificate of Competency (CoC) in any qualification or course from 1996 onwards. He or she should be working in the country or abroad either as wage-employed or self-employed in the qualification he or she was trained. The contestant can be of any age.
As for the institution, any interested school should be a holder of Certificate of TVET Program Registration for any qualification covered by the Training for Work Scholarship Program; a holder of Certificate of TVET Program Registration for the qualification of the graduate on the video and currently offering the said program; and, of good standing and should pass TESDA’s compliance audit.

 

The graduate or the school should submit an original two to three minute video taken at the workplace or work setting using any recording device, which may be done in Filipino or English or both.
The video may be in the form of dramatization, storytelling or music video and should answer the question: How did your tech-voc training change your life? The closing statement should include “Ako si ________, Tatak TESDA.”

The entry should be uploaded in a Facebook account together with the entry form containing the following information: Name, address, tech-voc training completed and where it was completed, present work, including title of position, name of employer, address of employer and salary rate.
The URL of the uploaded video should be sent to tataktesda@tesda.gov.ph.

Prizes at stake:

  • Best in Video (Cinematography) – Graduate: P25,000 and trophy; Tech-Voc Institution: P250,000 worth of TWSP scholarship and trophy
  • Best in Story (Screenplay) – Graduate: P25,000 and trophy; Tech-Voc Institution: P250,000 worth of TWSP scholarship and trophy
  •  People’s Choice Award – Graduate: P50,000 and trophy; Tech-Voc Institution: P500,000 worth of TWSP scholarship and trophy
  • Grand Winner – Graduate: P100,000 and trophy; Tech-Voc Institution: P1 million worth of TWSP scholarship and trophy
