Cagayan de Oro City – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region 10 conducted the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) in Housekeeping Qualification last October 27-29, 2014 at MASS-SPECC Hostel, Cagayan de Oro City. This is in preparation to the 2015 ASEAN Integration which is a major leap in the Philippine economy specifically highlighting the need to define competitive edge among ASEAN neighbors.
“We in TESDA endeavored to send our identified Master Trainors and Assessors for further training and appreciation on the ASEAN Housekeeping toolbox.” Dir. Edgar A. Sales, TESDA 10 Regional Director, said.
The 3-day activity prepared the current pool of Housekeeping trainors with their competence to trade qualifications, training delivery and assessment methodologies in line with the regional qualifications and harmonization of qualification standards in relation to employability skills and competence of TVET trainees and graduates.
To ensure that quality and excellence be adopted and propagated in vocational training institutions in Region 10, the seminar-workshop was made mandatory to all Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) with Housekeeping NC II registered program. It is also a pre-requisite in the migration of Housekeeping NC II program in line with the amended Training Regulation (TR).
Participated by 42 Housekeeping trainors from the 5 provinces of Region 10, the seminar-workshop was facilitated by the following Housekeeping Master Trainors/Assessors: Ms. Ave Gladys C. Gabucan, Mr. Riel D. De La Cruz, Ms. Keena O. Lagtapon, Dr. Rodelo T. Salburo and Mr. Rey V. Eboras.
