As part of the 171st Mambajao Foundation Day celebration, nine (9) personnel from the Camiguin School of Arts and Trades (CSAT) participated in the Inter-Agency Rescue Olympics held on July 5, 2026, at the Mambajao Municipal Grounds. The activity was organized by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mambajao to promote disaster preparedness, emergency response, and inter-agency collaboration.

Representing CSAT were Mr. Kevin Casey Weiss, Ms. Mariel Maderal, Mr. Rackynel Bayucot, Ms. Rittaflor Dagoc, Ms. Josephine Baslot, Mr. Luisito Dagondon Jr., Mr. Ronilo Naquiling, Mr. Doroteo C. Malinao, and Ms. Jilamy Caparida. They were accompanied by Mr. Louis Emmanuel M. Martho and Mr. Teddy B. Veloso from the TESDA Camiguin Provincial Office.
The event brought together representatives from various national government agencies, including the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT-Camiguin), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Parole and Probation Administration. The activity highlighted the value of collaboration and coordination among government agencies in strengthening disaster resilience and emergency preparedness.

Through a series of practical simulations and rescue challenges, participants enhanced their skills in emergency response, rescue operations, te
amwork, communication, and decision-making under pressure. The experience further strengthened the preparedness of CSAT personnel, particularly its trainers, by equipping them with practical life-saving skills that can be readily applied in the school setting.
The knowledge and experience gained from the activity will enable CSAT personnel to respond more effectively during emergencies, helping ensure t
he safety and well-being of students, employees, and visitors. This participation also reflects CSAT’s continuing commitment to building a safe, resilient, and disaster-ready learning environment while fostering a culture of preparedness, teamwork, and public service.
